Abstract
In one embodiment, a Database Management System (DBMS) providing increased fault tolerance includes a first DBMS instance communicably coupled with a data store. The DBMS further includes a second DBMS instance communicably coupled with the data store, with the second DBMS instance comprising a shadow instance operable to monitor data processing of the first DBMS instance using a communication facility.
Claims35
A Database Management System (DBMS) providing increased fault tolerance comprises:
- a first DBMS instance communicably coupled with a data store;
- and
- a second DBMS instance communicably coupled with the data store, the second DBMS instance comprising a shadow instance operable to monitor data processing of the first DBMS instance using, at least in part, a communication facility.
A method for providing increased database fault tolerance comprises:
- executing a first DBMS instance communicably coupled with a data store;
- and
- executing a second DBMS instance communicably coupled with the data store, the second DBMS instance comprising a shadow instance operable to monitor data processing of the first DBMS instance using, at least in part, a communication facility.
A system for providing increased database fault tolerance comprises:
- memory storing a data store;
- and
- one or more processors operable to:
- execute a first DBMS instance communicably coupled with the data store;
- and
- execute a second DBMS instance communicably coupled with the data store, the second DBMS instance comprising a shadow instance operable to monitor data processing of the first DBMS instance using a communication facility.
