Abstract
An automatic transmission in the form of a belt-driven conical-pulley transmission having pairs of conical disks on the power input side and the output side and an endless torque-transmitting means for transmitting torque between the conical disk pairs. The disk pairs include an axially movable disk that has a slide seat positioned inwardly and adjacent to its associated shaft. At least one axially movable disk includes a slide seat positioned radially outwardly of an inner slide seat, for minimizing axially movable disk tilting relative to its associated shaft when the transmission is under load.
Claims12
A belt-driven conical-pulley transmission comprising:
- a pair of conical disks on a power input side and a pair of conical disks on an output side, each disk pair including an axially fixed disk and an axially movable disk movable disk, wherein the disks are carried on shafts on respective shafts on the power input side and on the output side;
- an endless torque-transmitting means extending between and passing around each disk pair for transmitting torque therebetween;
- wherein at least one axially movable disk includes a slide seat positioned inwardly and adjacent to its associated shaft, and at least one axially movable disk includes a slide seat positioned radially outwardly of an inner slide seat, for minimizing axially movable disk tilting relative to its associated shaft when the transmission is under load.
A motor vehicle comprising:
- a drive train with a transmission including a pair of conical disks on a power input side and a pair of conical disks on an output side, each disk pair including an axially fixed disk and an axially movable disk movable disk, wherein the disks are carried on shafts on respective shafts on the power input side and on the output side;
- an endless torque-transmitting means extending between and passing around each disk pair for transmitting torque therebetween;
