Abstract
Methods and apparatus, including computer program products, implementing techniques for retrieving a node configuration packet from a first queue. If the node configuration packet includes a read request, the techniques include determining if the node configuration packet is valid, and if so, processing the node configuration packet to retrieve data from a data structure associated with the device, generating a data packet including the retrieved data, and providing the generated data packet to a second queue. If the node configuration packet includes a write request, determining if the node configuration packet is valid, and if so, processing the node configuration packet to write data to a data structure associated with the device.
Claims41
A method for processing a node configuration packet at an Advanced Switching (AS) device, the method comprising:
- retrieving a node configuration packet from a first queue, the node configuration packet comprising a read request;
- determining if the node configuration packet is valid, and if so,
- processing the node configuration packet to retrieve data from a data structure associated with the device,
- generating a data packet including the retrieved data, and
- providing the generated data packet to a second queue.
An apparatus comprising:
- a transaction executor operative to
- retrieve a node configuration packet from a first queue, the node configuration packet comprising a read request;
- determine if the node configuration packet is valid, and if so,
- process the node configuration packet to retrieve data from a data structure associated with the device,
- generate a data packet including the retrieved data, and
- provide the generated data packet to a second queue.
An article comprising a machine-readable medium including machine-executable instructions, the instructions to cause the machine to:
- retrieve a node configuration packet from a first queue, the node configuration packet comprising a read request;
- determine if the node configuration packet is valid, and if so,
- process the node configuration packet to retrieve data from a data structure associated with the device,
- generate a data packet including the retrieved data, and
- provide the generated data packet to a second queue.
A method for processing a node configuration packet at an Advanced Switching (AS) device, the method comprising:
- retrieving a node configuration packet from a first queue, the node configuration packet comprising a write request;
- and
- determining if the node configuration packet is valid, and if so, processing the node configuration packet to write data to a data structure associated with the device.
An apparatus comprising:
- a transaction executor operative to
- retrieve a node configuration packet from a first queue, the node configuration packet comprising a write request;
- and
- determine if the node configuration packet is valid, and if so, process the node configuration packet to write data to a data structure associated with the device.
An article comprising a machine-readable medium including machine-executable instructions, the instructions to cause the machine to:
- retrieve a node configuration packet from a first queue, the node configuration packet comprising a write request;
- determine if the node configuration packet is valid, and if so, process the node configuration packet to write data to a data structure associated with the device.
A system comprising:
- a first device that communicates with a second device over an Advanced Switching fabric, the first device capable of:
- retrieving a node configuration packet from a first queue, the node configuration packet comprising an access request to a memory space associated with the first device;
- determining if the node configuration packet is valid, and if so, processing the access request included in the node configuration packet.
