Abstract
Fly fishing lines and methods for manufacturing fly fishing lines entail the use of polymer microspheres within the fly line coating to produce lines with very low specific gravities. The fly lines have single or multiple coatings. In fly lines having multiple coatings, the inner coating includes polymer microspheres and the outer coating include either polymer microspheres or glass microspheres.

A fishing line, comprising:
- a core;
- and
- a coating disposed around the core, the coating having a plurality of polymer microspheres.
A fishing line, comprising:
- a core;
- a first coating disposed around the core, the first coating having a plurality of polymer microspheres;
- and
- a second coating disposed around the first coating.

A method of manufacturing a fishing line, comprising the steps of:
- adding polymer microspheres to a base coating;
- and
- coating a core with the base coating containing the added polymer microspheres.
A method of manufacturing a fishing line, comprising the steps of:
- providing a core;
- disposing a first coating around the core, the first coating having a plurality of polymer microspheres;
- and
- disposing a second coating around the first coating.
