Abstract
An electric propulsion unit can include a propeller for producing thrust, a motor for driving the propeller, and a fuel cell for supplying electric power to drive the motor. The fuel cell can include a fuel cell stack for generating power and a fuel tank for feeding fuel to the fuel cell stack.
Claims19
An electric propulsion unit comprising a propeller configured to produce thrust for a watercraft, a motor configured to drive the propeller, and a fuel cell configured to supply electric power to drive the motor.
An outboard motor comprising a fuel cell stack configured to generate electric power, a fuel tank configured to contain fuel for the fuel cell stack, an electric motor, an inverter configured to supply electric power from the fuel cell stack to the electric motor, and a propeller driven by the electric motor.
An outboard motor comprising a fuel cell stack configured to generate electric power, an electric motor, an inverter configured to supply electric power from the fuel cell stack to the electric motor, a propeller driven by the electric motor, and means for accommodating a fuel tank configured for storing hydrogen fuel for the fuel cell stack within the outboard motor.
