Abstract
In accordance with certain aspects of the present invention, enhancements have been developed to further extend the performance of a generic DVD navigator. The methods and arrangements herein provide a mechanism that allows a player application to precisely ‘bookmark’ locations during playback, and later resume playback at the selected bookmarked locations.
Claims15
In a system comprising a multimedia player application operatively configured to interface with a multimedia navigator program via at least one application programming interface (API), a method comprising:
- selectively causing the API to generate a bookmark that includes a current state of the multimedia navigator program with respect to a multimedia content playback process;
- and
- providing the bookmark to the multimedia player application.
In a system comprising a multimedia player application operatively configured to interface with a multimedia navigator program via at least one application programming interface (API), a computer-readable medium having computer-executable instructions for performing steps comprising:
- selectively causing the API to generate a bookmark that includes a current state of the multimedia navigator program with respect to a multimedia content playback process;
- and
- providing the bookmark to the multimedia player application.
A system comprising:
- a multimedia player application;
- a multimedia navigator program;
- and
- at least one application programming interface (API) configured to operatively interface the multimedia player application with the multimedia navigator program, and wherein the multimedia player application is configured to selectively cause the API to generate a bookmark that includes a current state of the multimedia navigator program with respect to a multimedia content playback process and provide the bookmark to the multimedia player application.
