Conductive railroad attachment

A method for electrically connecting an electrical conductor line to a

• railroad track component, comprising the steps of:
• preparing a contact area on the surface of a railroad track component;
• attaching a mechanical anchor to said railroad track component proximate to said contact area;
• compressing an electrically conductive portion of an electrical conductor line between a portion of said anchor and said contact area;
• and
• electrically connecting said contact area to said electrically conductive portion of said electrical conductor line using an electrically conductive adhesive.

A method for electrically connecting an electrical conductor to a track rail, comprising the steps of:

• providing pre-measured amounts of an adhesive and an electrically conductive filler;
• mixing said adhesive and said electrically conductive filler to form an electrically conductive adhesive;
• abrading a surface of said track rail to form a contact area;
• using said electrically conductive adhesive to adhere an electrical conductor to said contact area on said track rail.

A method for electrically connecting a signal conductor to a railroad track component, comprising the steps of:

• providing a tubular connector having a first end sized to receive a first signal conductor attached to said railroad track component and a second end sized to receive a second signal conductor;
• applying an electrically conductive adhesive to at least one of:
• an interior of said tubular connector;
• and
• said first and second signal conductors;
• and
• inserting said first and second signal conductor into said first and second ends of said connector, respectively.

A kit for forming electrical connections between a railroad track component and a signal line, comprising:

• an abrasion device for abrading a surface of a railroad track component;
• a pre-measured amount of an electrically conductive adhesive;
• and
• at least a first anchor for attachment to a railroad track component, said anchor being operative to hold a signal conductor in a fixed positional relationship with a surface of the railroad track component.
