Potted plant package having printed design with shaded and highlighted areas

A method for decoratively covering a flower pot having a plant contained therein, the method comprising the steps of:

• providing a flower pot having an outer peripheral surface, a lower end and an open upper end, the flower pot defining a floral containing space formed therein and having a plant disposed in the floral containing space thereof and extending therefrom;
• providing a sleeve having an upper end, a lower end, an outer peripheral surface, an inner peripheral surface and an inner retaining space, the sleeve having a two dimensional decorative pattern on at least a portion of at least one of the inner and outer peripheral surfaces of the sleeve, the decorative pattern formed by applying at least one ink so as to form shaded and highlighted areas which provide the decorative pattern with a visual perception of three dimensionality, the sleeve comprising a base portion and a skirt portion;
• and
• disposing the flower pot into the sleeve such that the base portion of the sleeve is substantially adjacent to and surrounds the outer peripheral surface of the flower pot and the skirt portion extends beyond the open upper end of the flower pot and adjacent at least a portion of the plant, wherein at least a portion of the decorative pattern printed on the sleeve is visible, thereby providing a decorative cover for the flower pot.

A plant package, comprising:

• a flower pot having an outer peripheral surface, a lower end and an open upper end, the flower pot defining a floral containing space formed therein and having a plant disposed in the floral containing space thereof and extending therefrom;
• a sleeve having an upper end, a lower end, an outer peripheral surface, an inner peripheral surface and an inner retaining space, the sleeve having a two dimensional decorative pattern on at least a portion of at least one of the inner and outer peripheral surfaces of the sleeve, the decorative pattern formed by applying at least one ink so as to form shaded and highlighted areas which provide the decorative pattern with a visual perception of three dimensionality, the sleeve comprising a base portion and a skirt portion;
• and
• wherein the flower pot is disposed in the sleeve such that the base portion of the sleeve is substantially adjacent to and surrounds the outer peripheral surface of the flower pot and the skirt portion extends beyond the open upper end of the flower pot and adjacent at least a portion of the plant, wherein at least a portion of the decorative pattern printed on the sleeve is visible, thereby providing a decorative cover for the flower pot.
