Abstract
A scuffing device (30) arranged to impart texture to a plastic pallet surface (12) having a plurality of cutting members (34) axially aligned and mounted adjacent each other, the cutting members (34) having radial toothed edges for cutting into and imparting texture to the plastic pallet surface upon rotating engagement therewith. The device further having a shaft upon which the cutting members are mounted for providing rotational movement to the cutting members.
Claims21
A scuffing device arranged to impart texture to a plastic pallet surface, the device comprising:
- at least one cutter bundle having a plurality of cutting members axially aligned and mounted adjacent each other, the cutting members having radial toothed edges for cutting into and imparting texture to the plastic pallet surface upon rotating engagement therewith;
- a shaft upon which the at least one cutter bundle is mounted for providing rotational movement to the at least one cutter bundle;
- and
- a carriage for imparting relative movement between said at least one cutter bundle and a plastic pallet surface.
An apparatus for scuffing a plastic surface, the apparatus comprising:
- a drive shaft rotatable about an axis;
- and
- a plurality of serrated disks having teeth around a periphery thereof, the disks mounted to the drive shaft such that, upon rotation of the drive shaft, the disks rotate to provide scuffing to the plastic surface upon contact therewith.
A scuffing device for surface texturing a plastic surface comprising:
- a member having at least one plastic surface;
- a drive shaft rotatable about an axis;
- and
- a plurality of serrated disks having teeth around a periphery thereof, the disks mounted to the drive shaft such that, upon rotation of the drive shaft, the disks rotate to provide scuffing to the at least one plastic surface upon engagement therewith.
A method for scuffing a plastic surface, the method comprising:
- providing a member having at least one plastic surface;
- providing a plurality of serrated disks to a drive shaft;
- and
- providing rotational movement to the drive shaft and placing the rotating disks in contact with the plastic surface to form a scuffed texture thereon.
A plastic pallet formed by a method comprising:
- providing at least one plastic pallet deck member having a generally flat surface;
- introducing a plurality of rotating cutting members to the surface of the at least one pallet deck for imparting a texture thereto, the plurality of cutting members mounted to a shaft.
