Abstract
Methods, and compositions to prevent and/or treat acute or chronic right ventricular failure from pressure over load (RVPO). In one embodiment, the method includes the inhibition of at least one cysteine protease. In other embodiments, the method includes the inhibition of MMP activity to prevent or treat right ventricular failure from acute pressure over load (RVPO). In another embodiment, combination therapies are included to inhibit cysteine protease activity and MMP activity.
Claims20
A method comprising:
- administering at least one cysteine protease inhibitor to a subject having or at risk of developing ventricular failure;
- and
- attenuating the ventricular failure.
A method comprising:
- administering nitric oxide;
- and
- administering at least one cysteine protease inhibitor to a subject having or at risk of developing ventricular failure;
- wherein the inhibitor and nitric oxide attenuate the ventricular failure.
1 more element
A method comprising:
- administering at least one matrix metalloproteinase inhibitor that selectively inhibits at least one matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) to a subject having or at risk of developing ventricular failure wherein the at least one MMP inhibitor attenuates the ventricular failure.
A method comprising:
- administering at least one cysteine protease inhibitor and at least one MMP inhibitor to a subject having or at risk of developing ventricular failure;
- wherein the
- administration of the combination of at least one of a cysteine protease inhibitor and a MMP inhibitor attenuates the ventricular failure.
