Abstract
An information recording medium is provided, which comprises a plurality of recording layers and a first disc information area for storing parameters relating to access to the plurality of recording layers and formats relating to the plurality of recording layer. The first disc information area is provided in a first recording layer which is one of the plurality of recording layers.
Claims4
An information recording medium comprising:
- a plurality of recording layers operable to record information;
- and
- a plurality of test recording areas which are used to adjust a recording power of a laser light used to record information:
- wherein each of said plurality of test recording areas is provide data different radial position on said information recording medium than other ones of said plurality of test recording areas.
A recording apparatus for recording information to an information recording medium, which includes:
- a plurality of recording layers operable to record information and;
- a plurality of test recording areas which are used to adjust a recording power of a laser light used to record information;
- wherein each of the plurality of test recording areas is provided at a different radial position on the information recording medium than other ones of the plurality of test recording areas;
- said recording apparatus comprising:
- an optical head operable to record the information to the information recording medium by using the laser light;
- and
- a control section operable to control the recording using the optical head and operable to adjust the recording power of the laser light by using the plurality of test recording areas provided on the information recording, medium.
A recording method for recording information to an information recording medium, which includes:
- a plurality of recording layers operable to record information;
- and
- a plurality of test recording areas which are used to adjust a recording power of a laser light used to record information:
- wherein each of the plurality of test recording areas is provided at a different radial position on the information recording medium than other ones of the plurality of test recording areas:
- said recording method comprising:
- recording the information to the information recording medium using the laser light;
- and
- controlling the recording and adjusting a recording power of the laser light by using the plurality of test recording areas provided on the information recording medium.
