Abstract
A hand-held power tool includes a housing having a motor provided therein, a cutting accessory coupled to the motor and means for selectively directing a flow of air toward a point of cut of the cutting accessory. The flow of air acts to remove debris at the point of cut to improve visibility of the workpiece.
Claims27
A hand-held power tool comprising:
- a housing having a motor provided therein;
- a cutting accessory coupled to the motor;
- and
- means for selectively directing a flow of air toward a point of cut of the cutting accessory;
- whereby the flow of air acts to remove debris at the point of cut to improve visibility of the workpiece.

A hand-held power tool comprising:
- a housing having a motor provided therein;
- a first air vent formed in a first end of the housing;
- and
- an air vent cover provided in the housing and having an aperture formed therethrough, the air vent cover movable between a first position and a second position;
- wherein the first air vent and the aperture formed in the air vent cover are aligned in the first position to direct air through the first air vent toward a point of cut when the motor is activated.
2 more elements
A hand-held power tool comprising:
- a motor provided in a housing;
- a first vent provided in the housing and configured to direct a flow of air toward a workpiece when the hand-held power tool is utilized to form cuts in the workpiece;
- a second vent provided in a side of the housing and configured for directing a flow of air in a direction away from the workpiece;
- and
- a vent cover provided in the housing and configured to direct a flow of air through the first vent when the vent cover is in a first position and to restrict the flow of air through the first vent when the vent cover is in a second position.
