Method and plant to make tesserae (11) for glass mosaic, containing ornamental metal foil (14) inside. The method comprises the steps of positioning a first glass strip (30), with a metal foil (14) associated above, on a work plane (20) including first molding means (22), localized heating of the work plane (20) to obtain a softening of the first glass strip (30), casting a quantity of glass onto the metal foil (14), pressing the semi-worked product (29) in its plastic state, and molding the semi-worked product (29) to define the contours of the tesserae (11), by means of cooperation between second molding means (19) and the first molding means (22). One or more of the steps are performed sequentially in at least one work station (40-49).
Method to make tesserae (11) for glass mosaic, containing at least an ornamental metal foil (14) inside, characterized in that it comprises the following steps:
Plant to make tesserae (11) of glass mosaic, containing a ornamental metal foil (14) inside, characterized in that it comprises a plurality of work planes (20) able to be moved sequentially through a mating plurality of work stations (40-49), each of said work planes (20) comprising first molding means (22), and at least one of said work stations (45) comprising second molding means (19) able to be selectively activated, in cooperation with said first molding means (22), to form said mosaic tesserae (11) on the relative work planes (20).
Tessera of glass mosaic comprising a first glass layer (12) and a second glass layer (13) between which a metal foil (14) is interposed, characterized in that it has a double-inclined plane shape, the inclined planes diverging towards said metal foil (14) and the edges of the first layer (12) being inclined opposite with respect to the edges of the second layer (13).
