Miniature expandable toy train system

A folding body toy train comprising:

• at least two adjacent body segments connected by a hinge, at least one of the body segments having a connection portion for removably engaging an adjacent body segment in an assembled position;
• and
• a base portion including wheels for engaging a toy train track connected to at least one of the body segments, the base portion having a second connection for removeably engaging at least one of the body segments, wherein the body segments can be stored in a generally flattened arrangement when disassembled.

A toy train system having a universal drive assembly that can power either of a toy train or an accessory, comprising:

• an integrated motor;
• a drive gear connected to the motor;
• wherein the drive assembly is interchangeably insertable into either of the toy train and the accessory to operate the toy train or the accessory of the toy train system.

An expandable train set, comprising:

• a first tile comprising a first configuration of toy train tracks integrally molded thereon, the toy train tracks comprising elevated rails for guiding a toy train;
• a second tile comprising a second configuration of toy train tracks integrally molded thereon, the toy train tracks comprising elevated rails for guiding a toy train, the second configuration alignable with the first configuration;
• wherein the first tile and second tile are joined by at least one dovetail joint.

The expandable train set of claim 47, wherein at least one of the first tile or second tile further comprises an actuator for moving the moveable section.

The expandable train set of claim 48, wherein the actuator for moving the moveable section comprises a raised button extending from the upper side of the first tile, the raised button in communication with the moveable section and adapted to move the moveable section between the first position and second position.
