Abstract
This invention relates to the gene cluster for angucycline biosynthesis, derived from Streptomyces, and use of the genes therein to obtain antibiotics for drug screening.

An isolated and purified DNA fragment, which is the gene cluster for rabelomycin biosynthetic pathway of Streptomyces bacteria, being included in two 9.5 kb flanked PstI fragments of Streptomyces sp. genome.
