Sunless tanning spray compositions contain 1,2-Pentanediol, to produce low odor and long-lasting tans.

A cosmetic sunless tanning spray formulation which produces a darker, longer-lasting and virtually odorless tan, said formulation comprising:
- a) 1%-20% 1,2-pentanediol,
- b) 0.5%-20%Dihydroxyacetone (DHA), and
- c) an aqueous vehicle
