Claims33
A notification and alert system, the system comprising
- a first means that receives a first message in a first format from a first message source;
- a second means that processes said first message into a second message in a second format for transmission to a second message destination, wherein said second format is different from said first format, and wherein said first message source is different from said second message destination;
- and
- a third means for transmitting said second message to said second message destination.
A notification and alert system that tracks user and action data for configuration management, policy enforcement, and integration with multiple level billing, accounting, and auditing systems, the notification and alert system comprising
- an accepting means that accepts a first message in a first format from a first message source, wherein said first message comprises user and action data;
- a converting means that converts said first message into a second message in a second format for delivery to a second message destination, wherein said second format is different from said first format, and wherein said first message source is different from said second message destination;
- a delivery means for delivering said second message to said second message destination;
- and
- a tracking means for tracking said user and action data.
A user-centric system for transforming and exchanging information elements, the system comprising
- at least one computer;
- and
- a software engine running on said at least one computer, wherein said software engine comprises
- a first means for identifying an information source within the user-centric system and for identifying information elements from said information sources;
- a second means for transforming at least one of said identified information elements, according to a first plurality of translation rules, into at least one transformed information element;
- a third means for identifying an information destination within the user-centric system, wherein said third means accepts a user-selectable information destination;
- and
- a fourth means for exchanging said at least one transformed information element between said information source and said information destination.
A method of notifying and alerting at least one system user of the arrival of an electronic notification selected based upon a specified criteria, the method comprising the steps of
- establishing access to a computer network;
- receiving via said computer network a first message in a first format from a first message source;
- processing said first message into a second message in a second format for transmission to a second message destination, wherein said second format is different from said first format, and wherein said first message source is different from said second message destination;
- and
- transmitting said second message to said second message destination.
A method of notifying and alerting a system user of the arrival of a selected electronic notification selected based upon a user-specified criteria, the method comprising the steps of
- establishing access to a computer network;
- receiving via said computer network a first message in a first format from a first message source;
- processing said first message into a second message in a second format for transmission to a second message destination, wherein said second format is different from said first format, and wherein said first message source is different from said second message destination;
- transmitting said second message to said second message destination;
- receiving via said computer network a third message in a third format from a third message source, wherein said third message source is different from said first message source;
- processing said third message into a fourth message in said second format for transmission to said second message destination;
- and
- transmitting said fourth message to said second message destination.
