Abstract
Method for checking the correctness of impositions and correct mutual register of the print pages at the front side and the rear side of different types of printed matters using a check print apparatus comprising two cooperating printers (1, 2) placed directly above each other and arranged to print the “front side” and the “rear side”, respectively, of a check print sheet (3), and in which the printers (1, 2) are rotated 180° about a vertical axis in relation to each other, and in which the exit (4) of the upper printer (1) is directly connected to the entrance (5) of the lower printer by means of a simple guide path (6).
Claims9
Method for checking the correctness of impositions and correct mutual register of the print pages at the front side and the rear side of different types of printed matters using a check print apparatus comprising two co-operating printers comprising the followings steps:
- preparing impositions in a control means (computer 10) of the “front side” and the “rear side” of a print original to be made,
- feeding paper from a roll of paper (9) into an upper printer (1) by means of a roll feeder, and print pages having an imposition of the “front side” are printed on one side of the paper (3),
- allowing the paper to slide through a closed guide path (6) by its own weight, or alternatively by means of feeder rolls (16), and to be placed in a correct feeding position (rolls 7, 8) of a lower printer (2) provided directly underneath the upper printer (1) but turned 180° about a vertical axis,
- printing the check print paper sheet at the “rear side” thereof with the page imposition turned 180°,
- checking that the impositions of the front and rear sides coincide,
- correcting the control means in case of an eventual misalignment, and
- preparing a print original with correct impositions.
