Abstract
A process for, producing an ink composition comprising a non-aqueous solvent, a, coloring material coated with a resin insoluble in the non-aqueous solvent and a dispersant, which comprises a first dispersion-treating step wherein the coloring material coated with the resin insoluble in the non-aqueous solvent is subjected to dispersion treatment together with the dispersant in the non-aqueous solvent at a dispersion liquid temperature of from 10° C. to less than 40° C., and a second dispersion-treating step wherein the dispersion liquid-obtained in the first dispersion-treating step is further subjected to dispersion treatment at a dispersion liquid temperature of from 40 to 60° C.

A process for producing an ink composition comprising a non-aqueous solvent, a coloring material coated with a resin insoluble in the non-aqueous solvent and a dispersant, which comprises a first dispersion-treating step wherein the coloring material coated with the resin insoluble in the non-aqueous solvent is subjected to dispersion treatment together with the dispersant in the non-aqueous solvent at a dispersion liquid temperature of from 10° C. to less than 40° C., and a second dispersion-treating step wherein the dispersion liquid obtained in the first dispersion-treating step is further subjected to dispersion treatment at a dispersion liquid temperature of from 40 to 60° C.
A process for producing an electrostatic inkjet ink composition comprising a non-aqueous solvent, a coloring material coated with a resin insoluble in the non-aqueous solvent, a dispersant and a charge-controlling agent, which comprises a first dispersion-treating step wherein the coloring material coated with the resin insoluble in the non-aqueous solvent is subjected to dispersion treatment together with the dispersant in the non-aqueous solvent at a dispersion liquid temperature of from 10° C. to less than 40° C., and a second dispersion-treating step wherein the dispersion liquid obtained in the first dispersion-treating step is further subjected to dispersion treatment at a dispersion liquid temperature of from 40 to 60° C.
An inkjet ink composition, which comprises a non-aqueous solvent, a coloring material coated with a resin insoluble in the non-aqueous solvent and a dispersant, wherein particles of the coloring material coated with the resin insoluble in the non-aqueous solvent have an average particle size of from 0.3 to 4 μm and a proportion of particles of the coloring material having a particle size of 0.2 μm or less is 5% or less by volume.
An electrostatic inkjet ink composition, which comprises a non-aqueous solvent, a coloring material coated with a resin insoluble in the non-aqueous solvent, a dispersant and a charge-controlling agent, wherein particles of the coloring material coated with the resin insoluble in the non-aqueous solvent have an average particle size of from 0.3 to 4 μm and the proportion of particles of the coloring material having a particle size of 0.2 μm or less is 5% or less by volume.
