Abstract
The invention therefore proposes an anchorage unit for anchoring at least one prestressing member, capable of being tensioned, onto a structural component to be strengthened or repaired by additional prestressing. The anchorage unit includes means of fixing onto the structural component and means of anchoring the prestressing member located adjacent to a first side of the anchorage unit oriented towards a regular section of the prestressing member. The fixing means are located adjacent to a second side, opposite the first side, of the anchorage unit, which is so provided that it may be put into traction when the prestressing member is tensioned.

Anchorage unit for anchoring at least one prestressing member, capable of being tensioned, onto a structural component to be strengthened or repaired by additional prestressing, including means of fixing onto the said structural component and means of anchoring the prestressing member located adjacent to a first side of the anchorage unit oriented towards a regular section of the prestressing member, wherein the fixing means are located adjacent to a second side, opposite the first side, of the anchorage unit and the latter unit is so provided that it may be put into traction when the prestressing member is tensioned.
Method for strengthening or repairing a structure by additional prestressing, including the following steps:
- fixing onto a structural component of the structure at least one anchorage unit comprising a section capable of anchoring at least one end of a prestressing member fixed at its other end to the structure, the said part of the anchorage unit being adjacent to a first side, oriented towards a regular section of the prestressing member, the structural component fixing being adjacent to a second side, opposite the first side, of the anchorage unit;
- tensioning the prestressing member;
- and
- anchoring the prestressing member inside the said section of the anchorage unit, such that the anchorage unit is put into traction.
An anchoring unit for use in combination with a prestressing element and for attachment to a structure that is to be reinforced by prestressing techniques comprising:
- a body member with a first side, a second side, and an orifice end, said body member including a recess in the first side, a passage at the orifice end for receipt of a prestrissing element, said passage extending into the recess;
- a prestressing element retention member for engaging the prestressing element in tension in the body member, said prestressing element passing through the passage into the recess;
- and
- said body member including an attachment mechanism for attaching the body member to said structure.
