Abstract
The invention provides a pancreas-specific gene comprising a base sequence coding for the amino acid sequence shown under SEQ ID NO:1, which gene is effective particularly in the fields of study, diagnosis and treatment, among others, of pancreatic carcinoma.

A pancreas-specific gene which comprises a base sequence coding for a protein having the amino acid sequence shown under SEQ ID NO:1.
A pancreas-specific gene which is either of the polynucleotides defined below under (a) and (b):
- (a) a polynucleotide containing the whole or part of the nucleotide sequence shown under SEQ ID NO:2;
- (b) a polynucleotide capable of hybridizing with a DNA having the nucleotide sequence shown under SEQ ID NO:2 under stringent conditions.
A pancreas-specific protein having the amino acid sequence shown under SEQ ID NO:1.
