Abstract
According to the present invention, an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer having a novel structure, and a method of producing the same are provided. A method of producing an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer with respect to the present invention is the one using an 1,4-polybutadiene as a raw material, wherein the 1,4-polybutadiene is hydroborated in a solvent, followed by oxidation to be hydroxylated, characterized in that the hydroboration is carried out in a condition in which the solution of the 1,4-polybutadiene is in non-gel state.
Claims4
An ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer, represented by the formula (1):
- 3
- wherein n represents a number in the range of 15 to 15,000.
A method of producing an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer, wherein an 1,4-polybutadiene is hydroborated in non-gel state in a solvent, followed by oxidation to be hydroxylated so as to derive an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer represented by the formula (1):
- 4
- wherein n represents a number in the range of 15 to 15,000.
