The portable device of claim I further comprising:

• a comparator capable of comparing a type of activation command with a database of illumination patterns and providing for the processor to activate a selected illumination pattern in response to the type of activation command.

An apparatus for displaying an illumination pattern comprising:

• a plurality of illumination regions capable of illumination a plurality of colors and illuminated for at least one frequency;
• and
• a processor operably coupled to each of the plurality of illumination regions, the processor capable of executing an illumination pattern in response to an activation command, wherein the illumination pattern includes the selective activation and deactivation of at least one of the illumination region.

A method for displaying an illumination pattern comprising:

• reading an illumination pattern;
• and
• in response to the illumination pattern, activating at least one of a plurality illumination region at a first frequency and a first color.
