A method of treatment and/or prevention of side-effects caused by Selective Estrogen Receptors Modulators (SERMs), said method comprising administering to a patient in need thereof an effective amount of a standardized dry extract of Cimicifuga racemosa over a period of at least four months.
A pharmaceutical kit comprising at least two separate unit dosage forms (A) and (B):
- (C) one of which comprises a composition containing tamoxifen and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier;
- (D) one of which comprises a composition containing a standardized dry extract of Cimicifuga racemosa and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.
A coated tablet, in which the core consists essentially of a standardized dry extract of Cimicifuga racemosa, which is embedded in a coating layer comprising the SERM, and at least one component selected from the group consisting of calcium salts, binders, disintegrants, wetting agents, fillers, lubricants and colorants.
