Abstract

A traverse laying system for a weapon (1) integral with a frame (2) articulated in traverse with respect to a support (3) providing a large traverse range around a first axis of rotation (G1). The system comprises positioning means (6a, 6b, 14) for the weapon (1) integral with the frame (2) in order to ensure a small lateral range of the weapon around a second axis of rotation (G2) passing through the centre of gravity and perpendicular respectively to the longitudinal axis XX′ of the weapon and the traverse orientation axis. The first axis of rotation (G1) is located to the rear of the weapon's (1) centre of gravity and the lateral range around the second axis (G2) is of around 2°.
