Abstract

An athletic glove having a gripping surface on three or more fingers to aid in gripping and releasing an object such as a ball. The glove has holes in the gripping surfaces located on finger and palm areas to allow for better sensory control while handling and releasing a ball or similar object. Also, the gripping surface is capable of being used in any weather condition, i.e., it is resistant to water or bodily fluids. Primarily, the glove is used for gripping, handling, and releasing a basketball. Both the thumb and “pinky” finger (fifth digit) are preferably exposed, while the index, middle, and ring fingers (second, third, and fourth digits) are covered by the glove's finger stalls with gripping surface thereon. Additionally, the use of a gripping surface inside the finger stalls aids in the secure fit of the glove.
