Abstract
A mobile information gateway comprises a mobile communications device, preferably a phone, which includes a first communications link with a remote data source, typically the Internet, and a second communications link to a separated display, so that data output is conveniently presented for ready use.

A mobile system for providing access to remote sources of electronic data, comprising:
- a mobile communications device having a first communications link for accessing a remote source of electronic data;
- a data input interface for inputting data for transmission over said first communications link;
- and
- a separated display which communicates with said mobile communications device via a second communications link.
