Abstract
A mobile device for a vehicle is disclosed, which uses scripts provided from a server. The scripts can include indications that indicate the appropriateness of input data. Additionally, the scripts can include conditional actions that only occur when certain input data values are recorded.

A method comprising:
- at a mobile device for a vehicle, using a script to request input data concerning a trip;
- and
- using the script to determine a conditional action to occur when a certain data value is obtained by the script.

- at a mobile device for a vehicle, using a script to produce at least one prompt for a user to input data concerning a trip;

- using the script to determine a conditional action to occur when the user inputs a certain data value in response to one of the at least one prompts.
