Abstract
This invention relates to methods of treating a subject with pre-malignant lesions of prostate cancer; and methods of suppressing, inhibiting or reducing the incidence of pre-malignant lesions of prostate cancer.

A method of suppressing, inhibiting, or reducing the incidence of pre-malignant lesions of prostate cancer in a human comprising the step of administering to the human a pharmaceutical composition comprising a metabolite of a compound represented by the structure of formula (I), its N-oxide, ester, pharmaceutically acceptable salt, hydrate, or any combination thereof:

- wherein R1 and R2, which can be the same or different, are H or OH;
- R3 is OCH2CH2NR4R5, wherein R4 and R5, which can be the same or different, are H or an alkyl group of 1 to about 4 carbon atoms.
A method of treating a human with pre-malignant lesions of prostate cancer, comprising the step of administering to the human a pharmaceutical composition comprising a metabolite of a compound represented by the structure of formula (I), its N-oxide, ester, pharmaceutically acceptable salt, hydrate, or any combination thereof:
