Abstract
The invention relates to a method for producing borosilicate glasses of hydrolytic class 1, consisting of the following steps; preparing the mixture by adding at least one refining agent, insertion of the glass batch, melting the glass and subsequently heat forming the melted glass, whereby 0.01 wt.-%-0.8 wt.-% of one of more sulphates in the form of SO3 are added to the glass mixture.
Claims15
A process for producing borosilicate glasses belonging to hydrolytic class 1, comprising the process steps of batch preparation with the addition of at least one refining agent, batch charging, melting of the glass and subsequent hot-shaping of the melted glass, characterized in that 0.01% by weight to 0.8% by weight of sulfate(s), given in the form of SO3, is added to the glass batch.
