Global roaming services for telecommunications systems

A method for extending a user's communications services to an airplane seat telephone terminal proximate the user while aboard an airplane comprising:

• providing a subscriber identity record (SIR) including said user's flight data and a Universal Communications Address (UCA) to a Subscriber Location Register (SLR) connected to a home location register associated with said user's communications services;
• and
• in response to a telephone call placed to said user's universal communications address, routing said telephone call to said airplane seat telephone terminal aboard said airplane as a function of said subscriber identity record.

A method for extending a user's wireless communications services associated with a mobile terminal to a user-selected telephone at a location comprising:

• providing a Subscriber Identity Record (SIR) including a user Mobile Station ISDN number and a Universal Communications Address (UCA) to a Subscriber Location Register (SLR) connected to a home location register associated with said user's wireless communications services;
• and
• in response to a telephone call placed to said user's Universal Communications Address, routing said telephone call to said user-selected telephone as a function of said Subscriber Identity Record.
