Abstract
A method and apparatus for performing partial image uploads. In one embodiment, the method comprises the server sending a portion of the compressed data of a codestream corresponding to an entire image to a client in response to a first request, the server receiving a second request from the client, the server determining the second request is an upload request, and the server combining compressed data of the third request with the codestream for the entire image.
Claims38
A method comprising:
- modifying image data corresponding to an image to create a sub-image, wherein the sub-image represents a modification of image data already controlled by a server;
- compressing the sub-image to create a compressed sub-image;
- and
- uploading the compressed sub-image to the server for combination with compressed data corresponding to the image.
An article of manufacture having one or more recordable media have instructions stored thereon which, when executed by a system, causes the system to:
- modify image data corresponding to an image to create a sub-image, wherein the sub-image represents a modification of image data already controlled by a server;
- compress the sub-image to create a compressed sub-image;
- and
- upload the compressed sub-image to the server for combination with compressed data corresponding to the image.
An apparatus comprising:
- means for modifying image data corresponding to an image to create a sub-image, wherein the sub-image represents a modification of image data already controlled by a server;
- means for compressing the sub-image to create a compressed sub-image;
- and
- means for uploading the compressed sub-image to the server for combination with compressed data corresponding to the image.
A method comprising:
- receiving tile-parts corresponding to an image at the first resolution;
- identifying a region in the image to be edited;
- issuing a request for image data associated with a full resolution version of the image for the region;
- receiving only those additional tile-parts necessary to enable creation of the region at full resolution;
- editing one or more tiles of the full resolution data in the region;
- compressing at least one or more edited tiles;
- and
- uploading tile-parts associated with one or more compressed edited tiles, including indicating to the server that the request is to upload compressed data associated with the full size image.
A method comprising:
- the server sending a portion of the compressed data of a codestream corresponding to an entire image to a client in response to a first request;
- the server receiving a second request from the client;
- the server determining the second request is an upload request;
- and
- the server combining compressed data of the third request with the codestream for the entire image.
An article of manufacture having one or more recordable media have instructions stored thereon which, when executed by a system, causes the system to:
- send a portion of the compressed data of a codestream corresponding to an entire image to a client in response to a first request;
- receive a second request from the client;
- determine the second request is an upload request;
- and
- combine compressed data of the third request with the codestream for the entire image.
