Abstract
A method of one embodiment of the invention is disclosed that optically reads a marking on a label region of an optical disc, to determine access to information stored on a data region of the optical disc. Access to the information stored on the data region of the optical disc is then permitted based on the marking on the label region of the optical disc that has been optically read.
Claims46
A method comprising:
- optically reading a marking on a label region of an optical disc to determine access to information stored on a data region of the optical disc;
- and,
- permitting access to the information stored on the data region of the optical disc based on the marking optically read on the label region of the optical disc.
An optical disc comprising:
- a data region having information stored thereon;
- and,
- a label region having a marking optically written thereon to govern access to the information stored on the data region.
An optical disc comprising:
- an optically writable label region;
- and,
- means on the optically writable label region for governing access to information.
A method comprising:
- storing information on a data region of an optical disc;
- conveying the optical disc to a user;
- and,
- optically writing a marking on a label region of the optical disc that governs access to the information by the user.
