In an actuator for superimposed steering engagement in a vehicle steering system, having a first and second input shaft (12, 14), an output shaft (13) coaxial with the first input shaft (12), and a superposition gear (15) disposed between the shafts (12-14) and received in an actuator housing (11), the superposition gear (15) has a two-stage, modified planetary gear (16) that has respective sun wheels (25, 26), connected in a manner fixed against relative rotation to the first input shaft (12) and to the output shaft (13), respectively, a satellite carrier (21) that can be driven by the second input shaft (14), and at least one stepped planet (22), retained rotatably on it, with two respective planet wheels (23, 24) that mesh with the sun wheels (25, 26). For one-piece production of the stepped planet (22) with a precise angular position, aligned with each other, of the sets of teeth of the planets, the planet wheels (23, 24) are embodied, spaced apart axially from one another, on both sides of a smaller-diameter shaft portion (221) with which they are integral (FIG. 1).
