Abstract
This invention relates to novel proteins, termed BAA31618.1, herein identified as a Nuclear Hormone Receptor Ligand Binding Domain and to the use of this proteins and nucleic acid sequence from the encoding genes in the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of disease.
Claims45
A polypeptide, which polypeptide:
- (i) comprises or consists of the amino acid sequence as recited in SEQ ID NO:2;
- (ii) is a fragment thereof having nuclear hormone receptor ligand binding domain activity or having an antigenic determinant in common with the polypeptide of (i);
- or
- (iii) is a functional equivalent of (i) or (ii):
A fragment or functional equivalent according to any one of claims 14, which has greater than 80% sequence identity with an amino acid sequence as recited in SEQ ID NO:2, or with a fragment thereof that possesses Nuclear Hormone Receptor Ligand Binding Domain activity, preferably greater than 85%, 90%, 95%, 98% or 99% sequence identity, as determined using BLAST version 2.1.3 using the default parameters specified by the NCBI (the National Center for Biotechnology Information;
- http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/) [Blosum 62 matrix;
- gap open penalty=11 and gap extension penalty=1].
A purified nucleic acid molecule which encodes a polypeptide according to any one of the preceding claims.
