Abstract
A caustic recovery system comprising an oxygen source adapted to provide a gas stream comprising at least 30% oxygen. A method of regenerating caustic comprising intermingling spent caustic with a gas stream comprising at least 30% oxygen.
Claims9
A caustic recovery system comprising an oxygen source adapted to provide a gas stream comprising at least 30% O2 to be fed into an oxidizer tower containing spent caustic, the oxidizer tower being adapted to vent gasses, wherein at least some of any gasses vented from the oxidizer tower are fed back into the oxidizer tower.
A method of regenerating caustic comprising:
- intermingling in an oxidizer tower spent caustic with a gas stream consisting essentially of O2 and N, the gas stream comprising at least 30% O2;
- extracting a portion of the gas stream form the oxidizer tower;
- compressing or educting the extracted portion of the gas stream;
- feeding the compressed or educted extracted portion of the gas stream back into the oxidizer tower.
The method of claim 7 wherein the gas stream comprises at least 88% oxygen O2.
