Abstract
Basic (meth)acrylates IV are prepared by transesterification of alkyl (meth)acrylates I in the presence of a catalyst and working-up of the reaction mixture by distillation, by a process in which a gas or gas mixture which is inert under the reaction conditions is passed through the reaction zone and/or heat exchanger.

A process for the preparation of basic (meth)acrylates IV by transesterification of alkyl (meth)acrylates I in the presence of a catalyst and working-up of the reaction mixture by distillation, wherein a gas or gas mixture which is inert under the reaction conditions is passed through the reaction zone and/or heat exchanger.
A process for the preparation of basic dialkylaminoethyl (meth)acrylates by transesterification of alkyl (meth)acrylates I in the presence of a catalyst and working-up of the reaction mixture by distillation, wherein the residence time of the reaction mixture in the reaction zone is from 1.5 to 3 hours.
The use of dialkylaminoalkyl (meth)acrylates obtainable by a process as claimed in any of the preceding claims in a quaternization.
