Abstract
The invention concerns a contour roll former capable of operating with different sets of pairs forming heads (P1i, P2i) depending on the type of extruded profile to be produced. Said contour roll former is characterized in that said pairs of heads (P1i, P2i) are mounted on carriages (Ci capable of sliding both ways along a direction (T) transverse to the forming line, so that it is possible to replace one set with another with minimum handling.
Claims11
Roll forming apparatus (1) of the type able to operate with different sets of pairs of roll forming heads (P1i, P2i) according to the type of section to be fabricated, characterized in that said pairs of heads (P1i, P2i) are mounted on carriages (Ci) that can slide both ways in a direction (T) transverse to the roll forming line, so that one set can be replaced by another set with minimum handling.
Roll forming apparatus (1) according to any preceding claim, characterized in that it includes at least one double-acting ram (V1i, V2i) for moving each of said carriages (Ci.
Roll forming apparatus (1) according to any preceding claim, characterized in that it includes means (TRi, RL, CP) for preventing it from starting before said carriages (Ci have reached an alignment enabling the use of one of said sets.
Roll forming apparatus (1) according to any preceding claim, characterized in that said carriages (Ci are mounted on wheels (Ci rolling on rails (RAi) and said rails (RAi) comprise recesses (CRi) disposed to index the positions of said carriages (Ci corresponding to the use of each of said sets.
