Abstract
A novel soybean cultivar, designated 0491720, is disclosed. The invention relates to the seeds of soybean cultivar 0491720, to the plants of soybean 0491720 and to methods for producing a soybean plant produced by crossing the cultivar 0491720 with itself or another soybean variety. The invention further relates to hybrid soybean seeds and plants produced by crossing the cultivar 0491720 with another soybean cultivar.

Seed of a soybean variety designated 0491720 wherein a sample of seed was deposited under ATCC Accession No. ______.
A soybean plant, or parts thereof, of variety 0491720, seed of said variety having been deposited under ATCC Accession No. ______.
A method for producing a soybean variety 0491720-derived soybean plant, comprising:
- a) crossing soybean variety 0491720 wherein a sample of seed was deposited under ATCC accession number ______, with a second soybean plant to yield progeny soybean seed;
- and
- b) growing said progeny soybean seed, under plant growth conditions, to yield said soybean variety 0491720-derived soybean plant.
A method for producing a soybean variety 0491720-derived soybean plant, comprising:
- a) crossing soybean variety 0491720 wherein a sample of seed was deposited under ATCC accession number ______, with a second soybean plant to yield progeny soybean seed;
- b) growing said progeny soybean seed, under plant growth conditions, to yield said soybean variety 0491720-derived soybean plant;
- c) crossing said soybean variety 0491720-derived soybean plant with itself to yield additional soybean variety 0491720-derived progeny soybean seed;
- d) growing said progeny soybean seed of step (c) under plant growth conditions, to yield additional soybean variety 0491720-derived soybean plants;
- and
- e) repeating the crossing and growing steps of (c) and (d) from 0 to 7 times to generate further soybean variety 0491720-derived soybean plants.
A method for producing a soybean variety 0491720-derived soybean plant, comprising:
- a) crossing soybean variety 0491720 wherein a sample of seed was deposited under ATCC accession number ______, with a second soybean plant to yield progeny soybean seed;
- b) growing said progeny soybean seed, under plant growth conditions, to yield said soybean variety 0491720-derived soybean plant;
- c) crossing said soybean variety 0491720-derived soybean plant with another soybean plant to yield additional soybean variety 0491720-derived progeny soybean seed;
- d) growing said progeny soybean seed of step (c) under plant growth conditions, to yield additional soybean variety 0491720-derived soybean plants;
- and
- e) repeating the crossing and growing steps of (c) and (d) from 0 to 7 times to generate further soybean variety 0491720-derived soybean plants.
