Abstract
Provided are a method, system and article of manufacture for writing on a storage media. Data is received from a host. A determination is made whether the received data can potentially form a trailer record on the storage media. If the received data does not potentially form the trailer record, then the received data is written to the storage media.
Claims39
A method for writing on a storage media, comprising:
- receiving data from a host;
- determining if the received data can potentially form a trailer record on the storage media;
- and
- writing the received data to the storage media if the received data does not potentially form the trailer record.
A system for writing on a storage media, comprising:
- a host;
- a storage media coupled to the host;
- means for receiving data from the host;
- means for determining if the received data can potentially form a trailer record on the storage media;
- and
- means for writing the received data to the storage media if the received data does not potentially form the trailer record.
An article of manufacture for writing on a storage media, wherein the article of manufacture is capable of causing operations, the operations comprising:
- receiving data from a host;
- determining if the received data can potentially form a trailer record on the storage media;
- and
- writing the received data to the storage media if the received data does not potentially form the trailer record.
