Abstract
Pharmaceutical compositions containing an FBPase inhibitor and an insulin sensitizer are provided as well as methods for treating diabetes and diseases responding to increased glycemic control, an improvement in insulin sensitivity, a reduction in insulin levels, or an enhancement of insulin secretion.

A pharmaceutical composition comprising a pharmaceutically effective amount of an insulin sensitizer agent and a pharmaceutically effective amount of an FBPase inhibitor, or prodrugs or salts thereof.
A method of treating a mammal having diabetes comprising the administration to said mammal a pharmaceutically effective amount of an insulin sensitizer agent and a pharmaceutically effective amount of an FBPase inhibitor or prodrug or salt thereof.
A method of treating a mammal having a disease characterized by insulin resistance and/or hyperglycemia comprising the administration to said mammal an effective amount of an insulin sensitizer agent and an FBPase inhibiting amount of an FBPase inhibitor.
