Abstract
A camera can reduce the size of the camera. The camera comprises a lens barrel which allows the focal length of an image-taking optical system to be changed, a view finder unit for observing an object image, a cam member having a cam for driving the view finder unit, which moves around the lens barrel in a first area and a barrel driving mechanism which is arranged around the lens barrel in a second area and drives the lens barrel.

A camera comprising:
- a lens barrel which allows the focal length of an image-taking optical system to be changed;
- a view finder unit for observing an object image;
- a cam member having a cam for driving the view finder unit, which moves around the lens barrel in a first area;
- and
- a barrel driving mechanism which is arranged around the lens barrel in a second area and drives the lens barrel;
- wherein the section positioned the second area side in the first area and the second area are overlapped with each other, and the cam member has recess portion to avoid contacting the barrel driving mechanism when the cam member moves into the section.
