A modular kit of components for an electro-luminescent lamp assembly comprising:
- at least one elongate electro-luminescent (EL) lamp strip having a front side which can emit electro-luminescent light and a back side having fixing means thereon for fixing said EL lamp strip to a surface;
- an inverter and power supply unit including an inverter circuit and a battery power source;
- said inverter and power supply unit having switch means including at least an ON position and an OFF position;
- and,
- coupling means for coupling said EL lamp strip to said inverter and power supply unit after the EL lamp strip is mounted on an object.
A pre-assembled EL lamp strip assembly including 5 EL lamp strips connected in series with two corner connectors an end terminal connector as one unit at the place of manufacture and forming the shape of a U, a wire cable including a waterproof coupling coupled to the end terminal connector and a waterproof inverter and power supply unit coupled through said wire cable and waterproof coupling to said end terminal connector.
The EL lamp strip assembly of clam 43 wherein said second generally cylindrical portion has an outer annular bead and said first generally cylindrical portion has an inner annular groove, said bead being adapted to mate with and seal with the annular groove when the male and female connectors are brought together.
