A method for preparing a paper or paperboard core or tube comprising bonding together one or more plies of paper or paperboard material with an adhesive comprising an energy absorbing ingredient.
An apparatus for manufacturing a core or tube comprising a means for providing radiant energy to a predetermined location of at least one ply.
The apparatus of claim 21 wherein said means is a non-coherent radiant energy source.
