Abstract
The invention concerns an internal combustion engine, especially an Otto engine, with intake valves (20) and with a fuel injector (40), which is arranged and designed in such a way that it injects the fuel (42) directly into a combustion chamber (16) of working cylinders (14) of the internal combustion engine. At least in the region of the neck (68), the intake valves (20) have a surface that is designed in such a way that it counteracts the formation of carbon deposits.
Claims9
Internal combustion engine, especially an Otto engine, especially of a motor vehicle, with intake valves (20) and with a fuel injector (40), which is arranged and designed in such a way that it injects the fuel (42) directly into a combustion chamber (16) of working cylinders (14) of the internal combustion engine, characterized by the fact that, a surface of at least the region of the neck (68) of the intake valves (20) is designed as a catalytic surface in such a way that it counteracts the formation of carbon deposits.
Internal combustion engine in accordance with one or more of the preceding claims, characterized by the fact that the surface is designed to be antiadhesive.
Internal combustion engine in accordance with one or more of the preceding claims, characterized by the fact that the surface is designed to be chemically inert towards predetermined elements, especially towards C, H, O and/or N.
Internal combustion engine in accordance with one or more of the preceding claims, characterized by the fact that the catalytic surface consists of Pt or vanadium nitride (VN).
Internal combustion engine in accordance with one or more of the preceding claims, characterized by the fact that the surface is oxidized and consists especially of vanadium pentoxide (V2O5).
