Abstract
Device for receiving and discharging bars fed forward in a longitudinal direction, preferably from a rolling mill and after being cut to length, of the type with two pair of adjacent, counter-rotating rollers/drums, characterized by the fact that the said bars are sent alternately into a zone immediately above each pair of said drums, which rotate and drag the bar between them in a downwards direction, and which subject the bar to elastic, friction compression in order to slow it down while it is being fed forward and then, continuing their rotation, make the bar fall in a pick-up zone below.
Claims15
A device for receiving and discharging bars (b, b′) fed forward in a longitudinal direction, preferably from a rolling mill, after being cut to length, of the type with two pair of adjacent, counter-rotating rollers/drums (64, 64′), characterized by the fact that said rollers/drums (64, 64′), are elastically pushed one against the other in order to receive the said bars (b, b′) sent alternately into a respective zone (S) immediately above each pair of said rollers/drums (64, 64′-A), which rotate and drag the bar between them in a downwards direction (B), and which subject the bar to elastic, friction compression in order to slow it down while it is being fed forward and then, continuing their rotation, make the bar fall (C) in a pick-up zone below (P/67).
A device according to any of the previous claims, characterized by the fact that the said rollers/drums (64, 64′) are supported by elastically yielding means (66).
A device according to the previous claim, characterized by the fact that the said elastically yielding means (66) of the said rollers drums (64, 64′) have a lateral support bracket (63) which oscillates by means of a double hinge (62, 64) with an external, counteracting hydraulic cylinder (66).
A device according to the previous claim, characterized by the fact that the said floating, traction elastically yielding means (66) are formed by helicoidal springs (66′).
A device according to the previous claim, characterized by the fact that the said floating, traction elastically yielding means (66) are formed by a fluid-operated cylinder (66″).
A device according to the previous claim, characterized by the fact that the said rollers/drums (64, 64′) have a smooth surface.
A device according to any of the previous claims, characterized by the fact that the said rollers/drums (64, 64′) have a knurled surface, a satin-finish surface or a rough surface.
A rolling mill according to the previous claim, characterized by the fact that upstream it also has:
- means for pre-heating the material to be rolled (1);
- means for de-scaling the material (2);
- means for feeding the material (3);
- means for rolling the stock material (4);
- on-line cooling means of said stock rolled material and/or heat treatment means (5);
- means for cutting the stock rolled material to bars of a certain length with an alternated bar deviator (9) immediately above one or the other of the said pairs of cylinders (64, 64′).
A method using a device for receiving and discharging bars (b, b′) fed forward in a longitudinal direction, preferably from a rolling mill and after being cut to length, of the type with two pairs of adjacent, counter-rotating rollers/drums (64, 64′), according to previous claims characterized by the fact that the said bars (b, b′) are sent alternately into a zone (S) immediately above each pair of said drums (64, 64′-A), which rotate and drag the bar between them in a downwards direction (B), and which subject the bar to elastic, friction compression in order to slow it down while it is being fed forward and then, continuing their rotation, make the bar fall (C) in a pick-up zone below (P/67).
