Abstract
The invention prevents or treats tumor, inhibiting tumor growth and malignant progression by providing an antitumor agent comprising a treated SOD as the active ingredient, especially a melon SOD coated with gliadin. The invention also applies to a method of preventing or treating tumor.

A method of preventing or treating a tumor in a subject, in which the improvement comprises administering to said subject in which the tumor is to be treated or prevented a pharmacologically effective amount of a treated superoxide dismutase.
