Abstract
A decentralized SLS monitoring structure (30) includes a measurement preparation and minimization module (32), measurement launching coordination module (34), measurement scheduler module (36) and measurement initialization module (38). A configuration server (40) provides information regarding the test parameters for a given test and an SLS Objects database (42) provides information on the SLS specification for a given SLA (service level agreement).

A measurement system for measuring service level specification (SLS) performance criteria between a plurality of ingress and egress nodes, comprising:
- a central structure for:
- generating test parameters for a plurality of tests between ingress and egress node pairs;
- and
- passing the test parameters to the node pairs for execution on the node pairs without intervention of said central structure.
A method of measuring service level specification (SLS) performance criteria between a plurality of ingress and egress nodes, comprising the steps of:
- generating test parameters for a plurality of tests between ingress and egress node pairs in a central structure;
- and
- passing the test parameters form the central structure to the node pairs for execution on the node pairs without intervention of said central structure.
