Abstract
A joint protector of high strength impact resistant material is used for absorbing and dissipating energy from the high impact contact. The protector includes a preformed lightweight high strength material contoured to fit the joint. The preformed contoured material is covered with layers of impact absorbing padding and encased in an elastic cover. The high strength material is shaped to cover from 50-75% of the joint.
Claims6
What is claimed is a high strength impact resistant knee protector comprising in combination in sequence;
- A single piece of preformed high strength, lightweight material;
- titanium/aluminum/stainless steel/hard plastics/ or similar impact resistant type materials thereof pre-formed and contoured to the knee area covering between 50% -75% of the circumference of the knee.
A system in which the pre-formed and contoured high strength, lightweight material which is pocketed within the foam padding or similar type material, is then fed and securely machine stitched, and or bonded into a pocket of an elastic type material of which the elastic type material is then machine stitched to form and contour around the knee area to form an open sleeve, which slides up onto the knee area, and once worn on knee, conforms to a snug and stationary fit.
