Abstract
Disclosed are methods of synthesis of copoly(succinimide-aspartate), copolymers and derivatives thereof, prepared in a thermal or supercritical fluid method. Also disclosed are methods of isolating, compounding, stabilizing and processing the copoly(succinimide-aspartate), and its derivatives.

A method for preparing a copolymer containing succinimide moieties, which comprises, polymerizing aspartic acid in the presence of an end-capping initiator to form the copolymer.
A method for preparing a copolymer of L-aspartic acid, which comprises, polymerizing aspartic acid in the presence of an end-capping initiator and a catalyst to form the copolymer of L-aspartic acid.
